We have an immediate opening in our Materials Testing Laboratory for a Testing Development Engineer. The person will collaborate with external customers and Fort Wayne Metals personnel to develop test methods that best identify acceptable criteria for components and improved technical resources for testing capabilities.
We want to hire a responsible and capable person to support our Die Room operations. This employee is responsible for picking up, cleaning and sorting dies used on the production floor; maintaining die inventories within the drawing departments; and using Conoptica optical sensor to measure profile of dies.
We are hiring! We have several hourly positions open in various plant locations. Openings include Custom Assembly (adding components to finished wire, strands, and cables) and Utility (entry level support on the production floor); Spooling (typically transferring finished wire from larger spools to smaller spools at specific lengths adhering to customer specifications); Production (includes any position that changes the mechanical properties of the wire). Beginning full-time hourly rates vary, depending on the open position, from $11.44 to $15.25, with top rates from $16.34 to $21.79, depending on the position.

We have an immediate need for a Continuous Improvement Practitioner. This individual will drive continuous improvement activities throughout Fort Wayne Metals departments including Kaizen events, 5S improvements, value stream mapping, quick change over, standardized work, visual factory, point-of-use storage, and total predictive maintenance. This will be accomplished through a combination of tasks that are completed individually by the CI member, as well as actions that are driven through a team. In addition to personally uncovering opportunities, the CI team member will need to establish relationships with Plant personnel to identify opportunities for improvement. The CI team member will be responsible for leading activities and forming teams to drive improvement, while firmly establishing a culture of Continuous Improvement.
We also need Inspectors! Inspectors test and evaluate incoming raw material, in process material, finished material, and determine its suitability for use in our products. They also monitor and assess the quality of the wire to ensure it meets our standards and customer specifications. Beginning full-time hourly rate is $15.25, with a top rate of $21.79.
We are seeking skilled Industrial Maintenance Technicians to fill several openings we have due to growth and expansion. Our Maintenance Technicians support corporate and manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all manufacturing equipment.
As our need for engineering support grows, we have an opening for a Process Engineer. Primary responsibilities include providing technical and operational support to the assigned departments and processes through the development, refinement, and correction of manufacturing processes, and procurement and validation of acquired or fabricated equipment.
