Strands & cables

Strands and cables are highly engineered products and are ideal for applications requiring more strength and flexibility than a monofilament wire can provide. They are often utilized for complex constructions or processes in order to enhance the following: fatigue life, strength, flexibility, torque, stiffness, and smoothness. Strands are formed by wrapping several filaments of wire together to form a single strand. When several of these strands are wrapped together, they form a cable. Strands and cables are available on spools, as discrete lengths and as mechanical assemblies.

Please use our cable strand configurator to help you determine the strand or cable that will best suit your needs. Let us put our technical expertise to work for you to fulfill your cable and stranding needs. Contact us.

Alloy Selection

Although all of our alloys may be utilized in the assembly of your strands and cables, these are the most common:

If you have any questions as to which alloy would be best for your application, please feel free to contact us. Our engineering staff will be able to guide you in the right direction according to your requirements based on biocompatibility, strength, fatigue life, flexibility, torqueability, radiopacity, and any other criteria your application may have.
